Richard Raymond

Richard (“Rick”) Raymond is an adviser, coach, and mentor to closely-held and family businesses in areas of entrepreneurial leadership development, team development, business growth, succession issues, strategic planning, organizational structure, and business systemization. 

We are pleased to have Rick Raymond as a member of our Conflict Resolution Team, which uses a multidisciplinary collaborative approach to assist families and their closely held businesses resolve conflicts and disputes that would otherwise have the potential of developing into costly, public, and protracted litigation.        

In the context of litigation avoidance and dispute resolution, we offer our clients the benefit of Rick Raymond’s extensive expertise with family businesses, large and small.  Rick focuses on second, third and fourth-generation families, assisting them in areas of succession planning, family dynamics, governance, business professionalization, and the development of family business best management practices. 

Consulting Activities

Mr. Raymond is the principal of Richard Raymond Associates, Inc., dba The Family Business Leader™ and the co-founder of The Growth Team, which provides services to family businesses and closely-held business.

Rick previously founded Coastal Consultants, an environmental consulting firm that he sold in 2005.  Its clients included public, private and academic institutions in the NY metropolitan region, including the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, where he developed and implemented community stakeholder programs city-wide.

Educational Activities 

Rick Raymond is also an adjunct professor in the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, New York University, where he has taught classes on Entrepreneurship and Environmental Ethics.  He is also a lecturer in the Management Department, Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, City University of New York, where he has taught classes on Family Business Management, and on Entrepreneurial Leadership.

Community Activities

Rick Raymond worked with the New York State Sea Grant Program, Cornell University, where he was responsible for developing marine education programs for NY State educators, statewide, K-16.  In this role he helped establish and was Executive Director of the New York State Marine Education Association.

Rick has also produced an annual Business-to-Business Exposition, BrooklynWorks, coordinating interests of public, private and academic sectors.
