Simon Barnett is an international legal consultant to the firm.

He practiced law in England for over 13 years before he moved to the USA and became an attorney in Massachusetts in 2009.  Mr. Barnett’s focus is on complex commercial litigation involving domestic and international fraud, contract disputes, discreet corporate investigations, trade secrets, derivative actions, and brand protection.  Mr. Barnett also excels in legal project management and litigation strategy, particularly in the planning, preparation, and organization of standardized litigation campaigns for clients where public relations and maximizing of return on investment is crucial.

Before associating with our firm, Mr. Barnett provided consultancy services for four years to the New York office of a large US law firm in connection with a substantial international fraud litigation.  Prior to that, he was a senior solicitor (lawyer) in the top 10 UK ranking Fraud Investigations and Asset Recovery Group at Mishcon de Reya, a prestigious mid-size specialist litigation and business law firm, with offices in London and New York.

Mr. Barnett acted in many multimillion dollar cases involving breaches of fiduciary duty, secret profits, international asset tracing, money laundering, and the theft of confidential data for banks, wealth funds, high net worth individuals, and various corporations. Mr. Barnett was also engaged in over a hundred anti-counterfeiting cases in annual campaigns for a very large international software company. He was responsible for the ongoing development of novel means of litigating against fraudsters and counterfeiters utilizing the most aggressive forms of relief available in English litigation practice, effective information management in discovery and negotiation strategy to achieve repeated success and financial recovery for clients.  He also has significant trial and international arbitration experience. Mr. Barnett has worked with clients of many backgrounds and business cultures including investors from Russia, and banks from Latvia, China, and Pakistan. As a result, he is highly attuned to grappling with the complex issues that sometimes arise for international clients.

Mr. Barnett enhances our firm’s international credentials, having qualified as a lawyer in both the US and in the UK and worked for and with law firms and clients on both sides of the Atlantic.  He also has access to know-how, lawyers, and other professional expertise in the legal support sector in a number of European countries.
